As a young weirdo I spent many days alone reading comics. My first introduction was looking through my dad’s box of superhero comics. I liked the stories, but even more I loved the drawings. One day, while I was looking where I shouldn’t, I stumbled on my dad’s collection of Heavy Metal Magazines. After opening my first issue I was hooked. In these stories the women were the heroes. Sexy, but also strong and smart. I spent years drawing strong, sensual, female characters. I’m a feminist, so I never considered this objectification. My characters were never portrayed as dumb, doe-eyed victims. They were strong, fierce and fascinating. My characters are the outcasts, freaks, and weirdos. By sharing their stories I hope I can help inspire other girls who grew up feeling outcast and alone.

What do you think is sexy?
Embracing yourself fully.
